In a major step towards enhancing local value addition and agro-industrial growth, Maamani Agridev Ltd has officially begun construction of a modern soybean oil refinery in the Northern Region of Ghana. The facility, designed to process over 20,000 metric tons of soybeans annually, is part of Maamani’s integrated agriculture model focused on creating self-sustaining food systems.
Once operational, the refinery will produce high-quality refined soybean oil for domestic consumption, food manufacturing, and export markets. The project is expected to generate over 150 jobs during construction and operations, while providing a ready market for local soybean farmers.
This development aligns with Ghana’s national agenda to reduce reliance on imported vegetable oils, strengthen food security, and promote industrialization through agribusiness investments.
